Lady Fox Palm (Veitchia arecina x Wodyetia bifurcata)

Description: This is the reverse cross of the more common Foxy Lady Hybrid.  Our Lady Fox Hybrid was produced once at our nursery in 2023 but unfortunately, the 4 seedlings died from bad soil. We are now developing a new batch in 2025 for release in late 2025/early 2026. Seed Parent: Montgomery Palm: Pollen Parent: Foxtail Palm. Very fast growing. Probably just as pretty as the more common Foxy Lady Palm (Wodveitchia).  The Lady Fox Hybrid will likely grow to about 50-70 feet tall in warm climates.  This palm will produce flowers and fruits but no viable seed (unless back-crossed with a compatible species).

Sun Requirements: Full Sun, Filtered sun, or Shade

Growth Rate: Very Fast (the fastest-growing hybrid we sell).  Here in South Florida we grow them from seed to small 1-gallon in 5 months.

Fertilizer: Low

Water: Moderate

Cold Tolerance: Unknown. Likely similar to the more common Foxy Lady Hybrid which is USDA Zone 9b.

Description of what you are buying: A live palm tree about 12-16 inches (30-40cm) tall currently growing in a 3x8 inch Treepot (pictured).
