Sun: Filtered sun when young; full sun when mature

Growth Rate: Unknown

Fertilizer: Low

Water: Unknown

Cold Tolerance: Unknown; likely down to 30-32deg F

History: We produced this hybrid in 2025 at our nursery and lab in Fort Myers, FL.

Production: This hybrid is from a C. blackii (seed parent) and a C. decaryi (pollen parent). C. blackii does not currently have a common name other than Dypsis lanceo'nada'. C. blackii has been distributed mistakenly as C. lanceolatus (Dypsis lanceolata) for many years and large specimens of C. blackii exist all over HI, CA, and FL. Our C. blackii specimens only have about 4ft of trunk on them and are estimated to be about 10-12 years old, making it kind of a 'dwarf' Dypsis species. Our C. blackii were identified by Dr. Don Hodel of UC Davis, California through email correspondence as matching up to the C. blackii type specimen that he described in Fountain Valley, CA.

Benefits: This hybrid should display the beauty of the emerald-green ringed trunk from C. blackii, as well as its white crownshaft. It should also have the triangular trunk of the C. decaryi father, making it sort of a 'Dwarf' White Triangle Palm.

Identification: 4-5 inch bifid first leaf with a very pointed tip. Leaf is stiff. Stem may or may not have some orange/red tint to it and is always 2-3x thicker than pure C. blackii
